Mr. Muhammad Luqman, an accomplished sales management consultant and well reputed business management professor at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), is the founder of Markex management consulting. Based upon his distinguished professional and leadership experience, he always felt that there is a definite need to improve sales and marketing management practices in Pakistan. Motivated by his strong sense of purpose, Luqman laid the foundation of Markex management consulting in 2013. Markex consulting is offering cutting edge consulting solutions with end to end focus from identification of issues to track performance on applied solutions.
Apart from being the founder and Chief Learning Officer at Markex Consulting, Luqman has laid the foundation of Pakistan Sales & Marketing Association (PSMA), working towards achieving excellence in Sales & Marketing Management practices at individual, leadership and at organizational levels, in Pakistan. Furthermore, he is also serving as a program director in sales force management, channel management and sales digitization executive education programs at LUMS. He is also part of the sales and channel management faculty at Suleman Dawood School of Business, LUMS.
Mr. Luqman began his professional career in sales in 2001 from KSB Pumps. Later he had served in many middle management and senior leadership roles in sales and marketing. His commendable work as regional sales manager and head of sales & marketing saw him promoted as Business Head in 3M Pakistan.
Luqman is a mechanical engineer by profession, he obtained his engineering degree from University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore. He successfully completed his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from LUMS back in 2007. Currently, he is currently enrolled in PhD program at University of Sterling, Scotland under the supervision of Professor Leigh Sparks, a global authority in the area of channel management.
Mr. Luqman has accomplished numerous milestones in every professional role he has assumed in last 15 years. As a sales professional and a sales manager, in KSB pumps and 3M Pakistan, he has managed to won eight ‘Best Sales Person’ annual awards. Moreover, as a Head of Sales in 3M, he has seen his sales team overachieving budgets throughout his tenure.
Moreover, as a sales management consultant at Markex, in last four years, he has managed to successfully advice numerous local and multinational organizations. He is considered as an expert to numerous industries where his work at Engro fertilizers & agrochemicals, Maple Leaf group and FMC Pakistan has enabled them to progress in their relevant segments.
As a business management professor at LUMS, in last five years, he has managed to teach more than 1,500 graduate and undergraduate students. Whereas, he has also trained more than 1,000 business executives at Rausing Executive Development Center, LUMS in the area of sales force and channel management. As a researcher, he is a strong proponent of bringing practical perspective in academia. Hence, he has wrote many technical notes, real life case studies in the areas of sales strategy, channel management and trade marketing.
His hard work as a trainer and faculty has seen him taking additional leadership responsibilities of three executive training programs as a program director. His strong association with his Alma mater is exemplary as he has also served on the board of LUMS SDSB Alumni Association.
Luqman is a fun loving, sociable person who loves to spend quality time with his family and friends. He is a strong believer of the fact that honesty, integrity and hard work are three core virtues of any successful business manager. As a hobby he likes to read literature on Allama Muhammad Iqbal, National Poet of Pakistan. Luqman is happily married to Sheema and has two cute boys, Sulaiman and Ibrahim.
Luqman is a firm believer of giving back to the society. In next five years, he envisions to add sustainable value in the education sector of Pakistan through different initiatives.
